Faculty/Staff Spotlight

Each semester, the GSOP Alumni Association highlights and honors a different faculty and/or staff member of the Georgia School of Preaching and Biblical Studies. GSOP has been and continues to be blessed with Godly, Biblically-sound instructors.

Keith Dixon
Fall 2020 Semester Honoree

Keith Dixon is a born teacher. Keith was born into a Godly family, the youngest of 4 children, in which not only his parents but also his grandparents were members of the Lord’s church. He participated in worship from a very early age, instilled with a love of God and the church all his life. He graduated from Southern Christian University (now, Amridge University) and Memphis School of Preaching, where he currently serves as President of the Alumni Asssociation. He has spoken at the MSOP Lectureships several times (his manuscript is published in the Lectureship books) and has been teaching at Georgia School of Preaching and Biblical Studies for several years.

Keith has been preaching for 40 years, preaching in South Carolina, Kentucky, Mississippi, Alabama and, mostly, Georgia. As it says in Jeremiah 20:9 – “…But His Word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones,…”, Keith loves teaching and preaching with all his heart. His greatest talent, among many, is his ability to teach and teach God’s Word without condescending, making it applicable to all listeners. He takes his love of books into a continuous in-depth study of God’s Word.

As a husband, father and step-father, God did not make a beYer one than Keith Dixon. He lost his first wife, Becky, to breast cancer. They had 4 children, Tim, David, Tammy and Melissa. David is the preacher at Sixth Avenue church of Christ in Jasper, Alabama. Tammy is married to Ryan Frederick who preaches at Lake Forest church of Christ in Jacksonville, Florida. Tim is a computer programmer for the US Government and Melissa is a registered nurse at Duke University Hospital, Durham, North Carolina. Keith is now married to Judy and step-father to her three girls. Together they have 17 grandchildren.

His greatest desire is to go to Heaven to be with the Lord and take as many with him as he can.
